Shiloh and Mike got married at one of my favorite venues in Dripping Springs, Camp Lucy. Enjoy the photos of this fairy tale wedding and read the couple’s love story below!Shiloh had a very emotional first look with her grandfather, who also walked her down the isle!
How and when did you two meet? How did you meet and when did you know he/she was “the one”?
A Houston boy and a Dallas girl just happened to walk into the same restaurant and sit back to back. When Mike got the courage to send me over a drink. I said thank you and our life together began at that moment. We dated for 2 and a half years, driving 5 hours each way every weekend to see each other. One day we were driving down an old street listening to music in Mike’s Corvette, knowing I had to head back to Dallas that same day so to lighten the mood I started singing at the top of my lungs, and that’s when he looked over at me and Knew I was the one.
Do you have a super romantic proposal story or engagement memory?
My husband spent months planning an amazing proposal in Costa Rica. He thought of every last detail that would make our proposal special and memorable. He booked an entire restaurant on a beautiful beach in Tamarindo, Costa Rica so we would have it just to ourselves. He also had the entire staff of the restaurant in on it. He even arranged to have a photographer hideout to capture every moment on camera. However, even after all that planning he forgot the ring in the car when we got out and had to rush but to get it. (I didn’t know this at the time, but we both laugh about it now). It was definitely a proposal made from the heart! Right after the proposal we were able to take our engagement pics in an amazing Costa Rican sunset. It couldn’t have been any better.
Tell us about your wedding style. When you sat down to really figure out how your dream wedding would look, did you start with one central color, a palette of colors, or a theme that served as your inspiration?
Growing up as a girl I always dreamed of my wedding day. However, it wasn’t until after the day Mike gave me my engagement ring that was elegant, romantic and forever timeless which is exactly what we wanted our wedding day to capture.
What did you enjoy most about the process of planning your wedding?
I really enjoyed getting to work with so many wonderful and creative people that in all put together our timeless wedding. All the vendors were amazing especially our Photographer Svetlana Photography who spent many days leading up to the wedding capturing the sweet moments at my bridal shoot with my mom and also a little gift to give my husband on our wedding day.
Looking back, was there a really special moment that you remember from your wedding that stands out as the most magical?
I would be lying if I said there was just one part more special than the other but what made it really special was that we stayed by each other’s side and experienced all the moments hand in hand.
Did you have a special song that you danced to as your first dance? How did you choose it?
I remember sitting at home listening to different wedding first dance songs when my Pandora started playing “Thinking out loud” by Ed Sheeran I started crying and could picture this moment dancing to this song with Mike on our wedding day in front of all of our family and friends.
Do you have any tips for couples planning their wedding?
We highly recommend investing in a day of coordinator. Let them sweat the small details on the important day. Finding the right photographer and videographer is also important. You want someone who you are comfortable with and goes with your style.
Were you happy with Svetlana Photography?
We loved Svetlana Photography! Svetlana and her second photographer went above and beyond to capture every moment we shared at our wedding. We contacted her again one year later of our anniversary to come and capture pics of us at our venue while I wore my dress again and we relived every moment we had there one year later.
What are your day jobs/hobbies?
My husband and I own a luxury vacation rental home business, Vacation Property Masters. If this didn’t keep us busy enough, my husband owns a real estate investment company, Texas Property Masters, that buys and renovates old and new homes to sell or keep as vacation rental homes. If you’ve seen “Fixer Upper” and “Flip or Flop” that is pretty much us!
